Come join us at the New York Botanical Garden!
I am always happy to support applications from driven individuals. If you are interested in the work I do and would like to join the graduate program at the garden, email me with the following information:
1. What interests you in Botany and Evolution
2. The reasons why you would like to be a student at NYBG and under my supervision. How do you think this could help your future goals? Tell me about the skillset you hope to develop in graduate school
3. What is your prior experience in Botany (or Neotropical botany or aquatic botany)? Share details of your professional background and education.
Above all, I am interested in people that are passionate and curious about an idea/question/plant group. You do NOT need to have a specific project in mind, but you are welcome to share ideas if you have them. I am particularly interested in projects addressing plant evolution in the Neotropics. Projects I’d like to think about call for an integration of historical collections, field work, natural history, phylogenetics, population genetics, and geology. Work with aquatic plants is a plus. Before contacting me, check out my research page.
The graduate program at the Garden is primarily operated through CUNY. Applications for admission should be submitted separately to NYBG and CUNY (more information here)
